TRIPLE X-CLASS SOLAR FLARES ! Newly numbered active region 11748 has ejected three major X-Class solar flares in the last 24 hours, the latest peaking to X3.2 at 01:10 UTC this morning. This followed an X2.8 eight hours earlier and the X1.7 which began the triple X-Class barrage at 02:32 UTC yesterday. Associated with these blast were strong coronal mass ejections (CME's), none of which have an earth directed component and are being sent safely into space but this may not be the case in the coming days as this active region starts to rotate into an earth facing position.
CALIFORNIA EARTHQUAKE WATCH | SEPTEMBER 13-21, 2017
MAJOR X-FLARE !! A Major X-Class Solar Flare was registered from an active region behind the eastern limb at 02:15 UTC this morning officially registered as an X1.7 blast. Associated with this event was a strong R3 Level Radio Blackout. A Large Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) has been observed exiting the blast site on latest stereo behind images, the CME appears to not have an earth bound component but we need to monitor this active region closely in the coming week as it could produce strong eruptions that could be directed towards the Earth.
