Volcano / Earthquake Watch April 18-20, 2014 (Blog Entry #397)
Wednesday, 16 April 2014 20:39

Dim lights

Targeting a small Positive Polarity Coronal Hole (CH612) in the southern Hemisphere of the solar corona. After close analysis i have isolated an area (1-7°S latitude). This coronal hole may itself be a foreshadow for a 6.3 Magnitude earthquake in one of these listed locations during this watch period:

Equador, Northern Peru, Galapagos Islands, Amazonas-Brazil
**Volcano Activation
Tungurahua - Reventador - Sangay**

Forecast - (Magnitude 6.0-6.3)
Time Frame suggests April 18-20

Strong M6.5 Solar Flare April 2, 2014

Dim lights

STRONG M6.5 SOLAR FLARE & CME !
Active Region 12027 unleashed a long duration (LDE) M6.5 Solar Flare today at 14:05 UTC. Associated with this blast was a very powerful Halo coronal mass ejection(CME). The spread of this eruption released from the solar corona does indicate possible an earth-directed component that could impact earths magnetic field (Late April 5-Early April 6) where a strong Geomagnetic storm (Kp 6) could be possible.
A G1-Class Geomagnetic storm is expected today as the Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) from the X-Class solar flare March 29th impacts earths magnetic field.

Twin M2-Class Solar Flares March 28, 2014

Dim lights

TWIN M-CLASS SOLAR FLARES !
Active Region 12017 produced an M2.0 solar flare at 19:18 UTC and M2.6 solar flare at 23:51 UTC yesterday. Two strong Coronal Mass Ejections (CME's) have left the blast site and may have components heading earths way although impact is expected to be weak on earth magnetic field (Forecast Kp 4 during April 2nd) and may produce auroras at very high latitudes.

Major X1-Class Solar Flare March 29, 2014

Dim lights

MAJOR X-CLASS SOLAR FLARE !
Active Region 12017 has unleashed an impulsive X1-class solar flare at 17:48 UTC yesterday. A strong coronal mass ejection (CME) has been released from the solar corona with the main bulk heading northward, due to the size of the eruption and the position of the active region at the time of this event, a glancing blow, components of this eruption could be heading earths way late April 2nd where aurora could be possible at very high latitudes.

Major M9.3 Solar Flare - March 12, 2014

Dim lights

MAJOR M-CLASS SOLAR FLARE !
Active Region 11996 unleashed an M9.3 solar flare at 22:34 UTC last Yesterday. A large Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) is expected to be leaving the blast site and will be directed towards Mercury and not towards the Earth as the active region was rotating the western limb and off the earth-facing side of the solar disk.
